Endare goes on an adventure!
Every quarter of the year, the Endare team comes together outside the (home) office walls for a special event. One of those gatherings is our two-day teambuilding. For this event, we go to The Ardennes or a neighbouring country to spend the night and do some team-building activities. This year, in September, we went to Durbuy.
As you might have guessed, this teambuilding was a special one. Not only because we had had a bunch of new colleagues, but also because of all the preparations that were necessary. Logically, an overnight stay with a large group in times of a pandemic was not obvious. But have no fear, nothing is impossible. We made sure every one of us had his or her very own glamping tent and we took a lot of alcohol with us.
On Thursday afternoon we started our adventure and left for our destination. Once on-site, we checked our sleeping places and made everything ready for the night. With a nice barbecue, some drinks, and a pleasant chat the evening flew by.
The day after, we were ready for some energy-boosting activities. Because of the coronavirus, the activities were more individual than usual, allowing the measures to be respected. In the morning we went for a ride on an electric mountain bike. Since our team mainly consists of nerds, the electric part came in very handy. With a tour guide, we biked around in the woods of Durbuy and got some exercise without much effort.
In the afternoon, we pushed our boundaries on a height track designed to unleash an adrenaline rush. Some indio bridges, via ferrata, and a free jump... in the rain, with a drink to finish the day.
Teambuildings are a great way to get to know your colleagues on a different level, especially in today's strange times. It makes collaboration and co-operation in the workplace more evident and it really does help to reinforce your business culture. At Endare, it’s a tradition to organize rewarding and fun events. That’s why we did not cancel this year’s teambuilding despite the unusual circumstances. We managed to have a good time, to laugh, and to strengthen our relationships. Our teambuildings always end up as good stories to tell, this one has been no different.
